A 2-day Whole Horse Dissection.
This dissection will give you a unique and awe-inspiring look at the structures of the equine body.
While the primary focus is detailed anatomy, we'll also prioritize how anatomical structures work together to influence biomechanics, movement, and clinical function.
Together in this class we will:
- Identify the major muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and nerves, of the horse.
- Understand how different anatomical structures are connected throughout the body.
- Explain how anatomy influences movement and biomechanics.
- Recognize the structures important for performance, soundness, and rehabilitation.
- Improve your understanding of common areas of injury and dysfunction.
- Build confidence in locating anatomical landmarks by seeing them in three dimensions.
- Connect what you see in the dissection to your daily clinical or hands-on work.
- Develop a stronger foundation in equine anatomy to improve assessment and treatment decisions.

There is something incredible about being in a room full of like-minded and similarly-passioned people appreciating the significance of a horse teaching us in the most vulnerable way.
Meet The Instructors
Ciara Crawford
I’m a licensed occupational therapist and the owner of Sozo Equine, LLC.
I’ve been an instructor for 6 years and enjoy making all things related to anatomy and biomechanics simple for everyone to understand.
My favorite part of teaching is seeing the unique way that a room of people comes together for each class. It’s different every single time, and every person has something unique and valuable to offer.
Being a part of a dissection of my own horse completely changed me and my passion for equine education.
A dissection strikes you in a way that no other experience does. I am forever changed by these incredible animals.
